Welcome to Colorful Coloradans Group

Bump a friend and send them on over. Colorful Colorado is the place to be. If you live here now, used to live here or thinking of moving back to Colorado, then join this group. Share your beautiful Colorado snapshots. From the ever growing Rocky Mountain Columbine's, to the mile high city. Whatever you would like to share will be just fine. Show and tell of a trip you had while traveling the Colorado roads. Talk the talk and walk the walk as all us Coloradans get together for some fun. Each week there will be a photo posted with the title, "Name this Place". You'll have hints to guess where in Colorado the picture is, then if you guess correctly tell us something you remember about the place.

Happy Thursday, everyone!
I've been so slammed with 2010 budgets that I've sort of been missing in action. Have a happy day today and do something special for someone.

An anuual tradition for me, this cliff dwelling housed more than 200 people.

Christmas Cactus
In the posts about the freezing temps someone, I think Donna, mentioned her Christmas Cactus was blooming. My Mom has several on the enclosed front porch of her house. It is on the East side of the house and gets lots of morning light and the space is not heated. Her Christmas cacti (plural of cactus?) have been blooming since before Thanksgiving. I was at her house in Colorado Springs yesterday and this is a photo of her biggest plant:

Oops - Bad Directions
My directions to Bible Park in Denver were misleading. Here's how to really get there.
If you are coming from the south, such as Castle Rock, Take I-25 to Yale. Get off at Yale and turn RIGHT (not left as I previously said). Follow Yale until it crosses Monaco. The park will be just a few blocks east.
Sorry about that.

Our Office Giving Tree
This is our office Giving Tree yesterday with about 75% of the gifts returned. the gifts go to low income families in the Denver area. This is one our Community Involvement projects and one that gets people excited to share each year. Here is an early "Merry Christmas" to this group.
I have to thank our receptionist for organizing the tags this year. She went way above and beyond by volunteering to do shopping. All people had to do was pick a tag or more and give her the money. She made a trip to Target, pushed three carts collecting gifts and was the talk of the store. One of my items was left out (yes, she shopped for me) and she went back to get it and the lady at the Service Counter said "we have all been talking about you - just go get what you need".
