If you change your email address...

please update your email settings here on eons. Because of the sheer numbers of emails that eons sends out, they use an email service. If your email address is changed, when you get an email from eons, it will bounce back to the sender. The email service REMOVES that email from the list and you will not be notified of that. Neither eons.com nor the email service provider can respond to the email change notifications some people send out when they change their email.

In order to receive all communications that eons.com sends you, you must go into your own account settings and update your email address there. It will automatically be updated in the eons.com database when you do that.

For fans of Terhune and the Sunnybank collies

This video is from 8mm home movies of Bert and Anice Terhune. I recognize the temperamental Persian cat, Tippy, and some of the collies look familiar, but I can't say who they are right off the top of my head. When I get some spare time, I will compare photos with the images on the video and try to identify the ones I can. Enjoy this thrilling peek into the lives of the Sunnybank residents.

ivermectin toxicity in herding breeds

Ivermectin is the main ingredient of most heartworm preventive medications. Collies, Aussies, Shelties, and several other breeds can have a gene that causes hypersensitivity to ivermectin. Washington State Veterinary College has a dna test that will tell you whether or not your dog has that gene.

Mixed breed dogs can carry the gene as well as herding breeds.

Check out Ginger's Story - a mixed breed dog that had the gene. Ginger almost died - it was only through the diligent efforts of her owners and the veterinarians that were taking care of her - that she survived.

I just ordered dna kits for my three old shelties and Kelly Collie. The test can be done at home, or by your vet. The dna test is available through Washington State

Here is how to order the dna tes
