Book of the Year Award
THE PIRATE'S DAUGHTER by Margaret Cezair-Thompson, a novel set in 1940s-1970s Jamaica , has won the Book Clubs Best Selection of the Year/Doug Marlette Award for 2008. The author is Jamaican and is an Eons Member. The novel also won the Essence Literary Award for Fiction 2008.
