Husband-Cancer-Smoking Again
My husband was diagnosed in March'09 with lung cancer. Had one series of chemo and it took away over 50% of the cancer. Had 6 wks off. CT scan shows it is growing again. More chemo starts on Nov. 30. He has decided that since the cancer won't go away he might as well smoke again. I have not been able to stop him. He does not smoke as much as before the cancer and I do make him smoke near ventilation, (to at least protect myself). I have begged him to stop, but he says he might as well. How do I deal with this? So far I just ask him to not do it often...only when he really really needs to. It is discouraging and means he has stopped fightning I am afraid.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Hello Fellow Caregivers;
My husband has lung cancer and they don't give him more than 2 yrs to live. He is 60 and I am 53. He was diagnosed on our 10th wedding anniversary. He has had chemo and radiation (it had spread to his brain). He is now on the waiting time before they give him another CT scan in November. That will tell if the cancer has started growing again. It had went down by over 50% at the point they had to stop the chemo because he was to weak. He is 6' and weighs about 117lbs. He sleeps so much and won't eat, plus if I keep after him to eat, he gets mad at me. I got that bad flu in Sept. and then this month I had a severe sinus and bronchitous. The doctor has me on meds so I am ok. (I know it is because of stress that I get these things), but I don't want to complain, because I know his worries are so much greater than mine.
I thank you for letting me into your group. I was in before, but my computer crashed and I had to rejoin under my new email address after I had the computer rebuilt. nanabirdie915
