Welcome to the Group!

Hello, and welcome to this group of cribbage buffs, players, and pegging fans. You posts and replies are welcome here. Please use good judgement about being respectful of others as you post and reply. I welcome news of tournaments being held around the country, as well as those results, and playing tips for those honing their game.

Posts which are more than six months old will be closed to replies. Longer posts are welcome, and it is not required that you put the bulk of those longer messages in the first reply, but it would be nice. I will follow my own advice on this....prior to being a manager, I didn't give it a thought.

Keep pegging, folks! And remember, this game is one where knowing the statistical probabilities of play and hands, as well as strategy, are the secret of the masters of the game. All others say it's "just luck"

Welcome MIhappygirl

Hello and welcome to our little group. When you post about your local group, just saying when you had a tournament, how many players showed up, and what you served for lunch would be enough details! LOL Feel free to post and reply.

Do You Visit This Group?

Hi, it seems like the only people to check in with us is myself and my moderator, Sixty30. If you occasionally visit, please reply. If I have no replies from members (not the manager or moderator) in a month, I am going to have this group dissolved.

I was hoping that a few of the members on eons played tournament cribbage, or were active in local leagues, and would post tournament information, results, and playing tips. It hasn't happened, and I feel ridiculous doing all the activity in here myself.

Reply by 10/05/08, please.

cribbage on AOL

AOL continues to update the "Cribbage Beta" game. Unlike yahoo cribbage one counts the points themselves and reviews the opponents counting too.
I have been playing cribbage a short time and playing on AOL helps me to learn the counting.

Grace-bib

With the help of an anagram website I typed the word cribbage to see what it would make of it.
Hoping this silliness would draw attention to this group, Cribbage 50+.
So the word cribbage is: Grace bib.

Let's Keep it Simple!

This is for all of you who think the things I usually post are interesting but too technical to reply to....

Have you ever played a variation of the traditional cribbage game? What did you try, and did you enjoy it?

Please reply! I'd like another voice out here besides mine!

Alaska Cribbage Tourneys

Friday, August 1, 2008 at 6:00 is a 9-game cribbage tournament (non-sanctioned) at the Funny River Community Center...in case you're in the neighborhood! I'll be competing for cash and trophies.

Saturday, August 2, 2008 is an ACC-sanctioned tournament in nearby Kenai, Alaska. I haven't decided about that one. I played in it last year, and the sportsmanship of some of the players was a little discouraging (cheating attempts and lies). I think this year I'd rather do a day trip over to Seward instead, but I reserve the right to change my mind!

Wish me luck!!!!
