CB Saturday POtW
...Rich, my apologies on thinking you had last Saturday's POtW...I work at a job where we are always working "into the future..." and thus got my days confused. Claybo, please pick 11/28/09's POTW and then we'll go back to the regular schedule.
Thanks for your patience! Hugs! --PJ

CAP WARMLY WELCOMES
...SANU! C'mon it! Join us and post your work!
CAP welcomes...
Gnasher, welcome to our group of poets! Hope to see you posting very soon! --PJ
...or if you prefer....
...we can create a "string" of thanks to which you can add to...or you can do both (which would be really wonderful!).
I will begin the string of thanks and you add on to it as you like, and you can come back as often as the feeling of thanks strikes you! :)
I am thankful for my soft, fuzzy, aqua robe that removes the chill when I rise out of my cozy bed.

Quiet Lately...
Hello everyone. Many of you have been very quiet lately. Is your muse sleeping these days. We all have those days when nothing seems to form in our brains. Let's give thanks for the times it has blessed us with inspiration.
To that end, I'd like to pose this challenge, that since TG Day is nearing, that you put your poetic "CAPs" on and post a message of what you are thankful for. As you begin to write it you will begin to create a work of poetry.
I'll create a Thanksgiving Post under which I would ask that you put your TG poem under. Or if you don't want it to be as a poem, then do post what makes you the most thankful. Sometimes it's as siimple as the breath you take.
Thank you in advance and I wish each of you a most wonderful Thanksgiving.
Warmly with spices, PJ

SWH asked me to post this for him as he is very busy..I wish he would have it means more coming from the poet. So here it is.
Obvious Oblivion
One step at a time into the void we go
Taking time to savor each breath
While the body weaves its sinewy magic
Doing what we do best
Cavort where the wild things are
And best each other in a leap frog
Game of checkers
Overheating the sky like
The burning fires of creation
Every BTU we shed is another minute off our Earth
And Gaia sheds another tear
Washing more ominous jelly fish to the shore
A president eats Chinese food at the tune of $300 Billion
Representing the few
The proud
The machines.
Our children come back in pieces and bags
While others are born into a state of terror
Like we as Yankees will never know
Assuming we are right and running the show
While H1N1 makes me not like bacon?
STD, HIV, 1-2-3 baby you and me
And all I want to do is crawl back to the sea.
Father sun, sister moon make me spin to your cycles
Reminding me that each pulse is a chance to renew
For the one thing I know in my momentary existence
I am here for a reason
Not just a season
Counting like every grain of sand
To make a whole
A part of a universal
Obvious oblivion

PotW MalteseColleen 11/14/09"
WNS asked me to post the Poem/Poet of the Week in her absence. She selected it, and here it is! :)
MalteseColleen has jumped in the poetry pond with a splash. her eye is intuitive, her words are adept. with a playful touch, she has conveyed the spirit of a morning's meditation . . . - from wns, in the Valley of Fire, NV
Do You See What Eye See?
I came 2 meditation
Still and quiet
Fresh from sleep.
Mindless, I abdicated
All thoughts and plans
In2 God's hands.
Thirty minutes later
I emerged reconnected
Centered.
As I sat down 2 table
He was there
Albino smooth.
A shadowy hallow
Where an eye cavity
Might otherwise B.
Tender was his demeanor
Reflective pools of brandy
His mellow gaze.
Dawn blinded me
With naught visible by a tiny light
Burning with a promise of eternity.
As I recognized the Spirit within.
