Their concert tickets, I hear, are expensive, and then some... but I would love to be there. I think DH is one of the best writers of our time, he...'says it all'.
In spite of the Eagles indulgence in the 'LA scene', and all the their monstrous popularity, his vision, and writing remains simple, direct, a Texas country guy.
I'd love to have a 'beer summit' w/ him!

Online safety - you can never be too careful.. and watch out for...hmm, what should i call it, "mission creep"?, as in correspondences that start out OK... and then get weird.
I've heard from two female friends in the last few months about this.
The first one: I recently heard from a designer I worked down the hall from at a big ad agency outside Wash,DC. in the late 70's. It's been almost 18 years since I saw her (I left the east coast, moved to Ca. in 'late '91).
(At this point in our lives, many of us are using this medium to check on friends from decades ago, and that can be a very interesting thing to do.)
She heard from a guy she knew in college, who had carried in his wallet a photo made at a party 40 years ago. She initially thought that was 'sweet'...(my immediate reaction was 'that's weird!'.)
Once he got a more current photo?, he started insulting her, asking 'how could she have allowed herself to deteriorate like that'.
Hey, we all age, and we all put on a few pounds, get *bleepin'* real!
She pretty quickly figured out what was going on, how strange the guy was, but I could tell from her email that it *seriously* rattled her, and she is a pretty strong minded person. She 'unfriended' him, and drop kicked all his additional emails.
But I think she should/could have had better instincts, right off the bat.
The second case, I heard from my boss, just today. I work at a film/digital photo and printing studio in San Rafael. One of our clients is an artist who also teaches alot of online courses, in watercolors. She apparently had a student in Florida who tried to 'escalate' the teaching relationship a bit...
Then, the next thing she knows, the guy is writing saying that he has left Florida, moved here, to San Rafael, and wants to...'get together'.
Sounds a bit weird?... I say 'definitely so!'
She's a bit freaked out by it all, and has already gotten some legal advice.
I guess the point of all this is... it's nice to be in touch w/ people, but definitely, definitely!, keep your guard up!

Thanksgiving
I suppose everyone is thinking about Thanksgiving. Either you are planning on what to do for all the people coming over or busy planning on your trip to somewhere else.
We can all think of blessings we have had this past year and other events that we could do without. Matt, have finally dug out? I am going to my niece's where there will be 24 and we all have a really wonderful time! So of wish all of you fellow Ca's a very
Blessed Thanksgiving and remember to get some exercise so you can keep on eating!

Here you go California Dreamer's....This is Michelle Shocked. I had never heard of her or any of her music before Kaiser Permanente used a 1:00 minute cut from this song to make an ad for Television on Healthcare.....And it's really a neat ad....I'll post it below...most of you living in California will surely recognize it!

Darn mud
Now trying to clean the mud.
Now to rebuild where our 'weakness' is & hope for the Best next rain due this Thurs.
Had city workers clean up mudpiles on streets & driveways.
Only 3 home got hit hard.
Now to beef up for next storm.
Been 50-60 F Temp wise.
Rain due thurs? Possible.
NO one saw this storm coming then wham 20 min & mudslides.
For those hillside bound, check Drains, conduits & Clear debris.
Lay sandbags, open up drains etc.
Clear alleways etc for smooth flow.
ALL hillside homes nationwide post forest fire.
Terrance backyards IF needbe.
Add fencing, rocks & mud dams.
The mud topped our mud dams.

Well the big storm hit & NO knew it was coming & my alleyway to the driveway from my bungalow was Blocked this AM by chest high mud.
Now to resand bag the area.
Only 20 min of rain & total Mud.
Next storm due in Wed or Thurs.
Even my SUV had a mudline from roaring mud & waterflow in the AM hours.
Live about 8 streets down from the top on ocean view Blvd.
Google La Canada CA & ocean View Blvd.
See fire damage & mudflows IFR recent pic from Space.
To all SO CA members.,
