Low Vision
I am looking to design a charity or trust for people with low vision. There are many that are not able to purchase low vison equipment to meet or perform everyday quality of life measures. ie: reading, sewing, cooking, viewing pictures, working in the shop anything they have done in the past but are not able to do now due to low vision or vision loss. This could be due to Macular Degeneration, Gloucoma, Diabetic Retinopthy and other eye diseases. I want to be able to develop a program that will provide equipment needs. Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to a pathway to tap into the generosity of us americans? Thanks, gunnar50
Sorry
Didn't see the inset with Savvy Senior 101. Understand a lot more but still think topics would provoke conversation.
This is an interesting site but---
What is it all about?
I am a member but don't know for sure what I have joined. Boomersmart doesn't tell me much and there is no direction when you open the page.
I love new sites and being a charter member.
I would love to get involved, but I am not expert on anything but the years that I have lived so far.
Ten members could be a hundred and ten with a little guidance.
What is our goal, and perhaps you could post topics to spark that energy?

Family Health History
Sitting around the turkey on Thanksgiving day talking about cancer and heart disease may seem like a grim thing to do when you're supposed to be giving thanks for everything that's going right. But since many families will be gathering for the holiday anyway, it's a perfect time to create a medical family tree. And a great resource to help you get started is the free Web-based tool called “My Family Health Portrait.” At www.familyhistory.hhs.gov you can organize your family tree, identify genetic risks and even share the information with your family members and doctors. If you don’t like the online version software is available you can download to your computer or you can print out a hardcopy version to fill out by hand.
Hello!
Hello everyone,
I am a newby from Toronto Ontario. Don't ask me how Eons got my hometown down as U.S.! I am 58 and I am glad to join this group where seniors doesn't seem to mean over 75!

Hello everyone
I saw a link that said "tips on how to take a free vacation" so i clicked it. Now i'm in here but i can't find it. Was that a trick :) ?
If not can u tell me how to find that article?
Well it's the Holiday Season! Not my favorite time of year. Hears a poem i just wrote:
Frozen Winters of Long Ago
A long time ago when winters meant snow.
I remember the time era ago.
When along came the biggest of blows.
Snow so deep only your eyebrows showed.
Ice N snow turning trees into the biggest
popcycles of all!
Always bundled in all your clothes up to your nose.
Icecycles hung four feet long from your favorite tree!
Don't go out in the snow! said your parents of long ago. Cos you'll freeze off your toes!
Six,eight N ten foot icecycles hang from the eves!
Break some off & stick in your tea for a radioactive treat that'll bring you to your knees.
Fire stoked N smoke rolling toward the frozen sky you'd snuggle down inside and forget your woes. by Karma Hart
