Kabul24 by Arnold & Pearson

I am reading this book by a local author Henry O Arnold( and Ben Pearson). They will be guests on my local radio show on Fri. Oct. 30, 09.

I had the opportunity of seeing them at our local Southern Festival of Books. They were taped by C-Span. I'm not sure yet when it will be aired.

The Kabul24 movie will be released in Fall 2009.

Dominick Dunn Remembered

I've read his Vanity Fair Columns, watched his programs on TRU tv, and read his novels inspired by true cases.
The 1st of his books I read was -The Two Mrs. Grenvilles.

Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy

I 1st read this book in my teens. I am rereading it because it is my reading group's August pick. I remembered the story line, theme, plot, and major events of the story. However, I'm delighted to find so much humor in the story. I had forgotten the humor or more likely it went over my head when I read it in my youth.

Libraries & Economy

The tougher the economy the more important libraries are.
However, a tought economy can mean Library budget cuts. My local library is wrestling with this right now. What about your libraries?

Sweden, Iceland,Holland-authors

I've been away from eons too too long but I've still been reading.

Like Ray and many of you I was hooked by Larrson's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. This book inspired me to check out a number of other Swedish authors. Inside I'll share a few.
