The Time Travelers Wife
I am about half way through The Time Travelers Wife and am about ready to quit. I usually don't like to give up on a book, but I can't figure out where the author is going with it. Maybe I need to read farther. Has anyone else had trouble reading it? Kitty
90 Minutes in Heaven
I just finished a Clive Cussler book which was full of adventure and am about to begin 90 Minutes in Heaven. Has anyone read it? It was recommended by a friend.
It is a different genre for me, but it is good to read different kinds of books. Kitty

Book Discussions
I would like to suggest the following two books for the Dec. discussion:
"A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini
"My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult

Secret Life of Bees
I just finished the Bees book and really enjoyed it. I grew up and still live in a small town in Northwestern PA, and never had much contact with blacks when I was young. I visited Florida with my parents, and while traveling through the deep south in the 50's and 60's, saw the segregated bathrooms and drinking fountains, but it didn't have much relevance to me. The book made me realize and remember how bad conditions were for the "Negroes" back then. Now I am going to read a book called Blood Done Sign My Name by Timothy Tyson. It takes place in Oxford, NC in the 70's and involves a public killing of a black man as he pleaded for his life. Has anyone ever heard of this book? My son lives in Raleigh, NC, which is not far from this town. Kitty
The Secret Life of Bees
Hi,
This is my first post to this group. Thank you for inviting me to join. I am about a quarter of the way through the Bees book and am really enjoying it. I won't be done in time for the discussion, but I printed out the discussion questions anyway for my own use. I am also reading the Karen Reichs book, "Cross Bones", which is very good. I ordered "Thirteen Moons" off of Amazon but won't have it read in time either. I printed off those questions also.
I am really glad to be introduced to some new books. I was kind of in a rut with my mystery books.
