Hi everyone!
I've been working out for over 10 years. My workouts include everything from free weights and other methods of strength training, aerobics, pilates, yoga and Tae Bo, just to name a few. I'm always looking for new techniques and exercise routines just to keep it interesting.
I do have a couple of minor problems such as bursitis in my right shoulder and a pinched nerve in the lumbar region of my back. My workouts have helped tremendously with the bursitis and over the years I have developed quite strong deltoids. The problem with my lower back has also shown significant improvement with exercise as well, but I do have to be careful about avoiding certain kinds of movement with my right hip while working out. I always use proper form. And, I have consulted extensively with my orthopedist regarding what is safe for me to do with respect to my back and what is not safe.
But, I'm proud to say that at age 52, I am more physically fit and have a stronger, more muscular body than when I was 22 years of age. And, that keeps me feeling young! LOL ;-)

Another Newbie
I love the little cartoon videos of the various muscle workouts. Will you be adding any of legs, back & abs? I like those because they show very clearly the correct movements, which is nice when I can't get to the gym. I prefer to work out 5 - 6 days a week, although I don't do that all the time.
My doctor had the trainer set me up with a routine for my shoulders to failure to help correct problems with a rotator cuff problem & worn cartilage. He had done cold laser on them & then wanted me to do these exercises 3X a week. I've been doing them for almost a year now & things are greatly improved. When I started, I couldn't lift my arms from pain & popping shoulder joints. Now my range of motion is normal & no pain, rarely any sound effects.
Everything seems to have improved except my knees. We haven't conquered that yet. I wonder if it's possible? Why are knees in particular so hard to rehabilitate?

New Here
Hi everyone, I'm new here! I go to the gym 5 days/wk-have a light weight schedule that I do, plus some cardio. I used to be underweight, but now within my preferred weight. I'm just toning up, etc. My problem is with ab exercises, I can't seem to do them without hurting my back. I feel that my lower abs need some work but am really unsure how. anyone out there have any ideas?
How to handle weights when you have bone spurs
I have bone spurs in my shoulders and heels and lifting weights and doing curls or lifting to the side or overhead hurts. Has anyone else this problem and what modified workout can you do to get around this problem. I can not do any heavy impact aerobics either.
bicep curls
I have been doing bicep curls and wanted to know why you suggested hammer curls. I am seeing results but want more results. I need your advice.

Water aerobics
Hi - I'm Dodee and I am a diabetic and have neuropathy. I have tried regular exercise along with diet and never lost an inch nor a pound. Now I am doing water aerobics 3 times a week, 1 hour at a time, and going to have to go below 1,000 calories per day. So far I still am as big as ever and have a big stomach.
Most all my weight in the stomach was added when I was on Avandia, I stopped that, and am now on Actos. Have been taking a couple others, too - all this under a doctor's care and prescriptions.
I NEED HELP - anyone have any other ideas on what I can try in order to not only lose weight, but those horrible inches at my waist line.
