If you change your email address...

please update your email settings here on eons. Because of the sheer numbers of emails that eons sends out, they use an email service. If your email address is changed, when you get an email from eons, it will bounce back to the sender. The email service REMOVES that email from the list and you will not be notified of that. Neither eons.com nor the email service provider can respond to the email change notifications some people send out when they change their email.

In order to receive all communications that eons.com sends you, you must go into your own account settings and update your email address there. It will automatically be updated in the eons.com database when you do that.

Bases

Hello, folks! I'm back! Hope you all had a happy Christmas, and the coming year is full of pleasant surprises, peace, goodwill and contentment!

I retrieved a lot of stuff from my mother's home, among which are a couple of Chinese wooden vase bases, which unfortunately don't fit any of my pots. However, it's quite extraordinary how they improve the looks of my stuff. So now I wonder if any of you has any idea where I can buy the things at a reasonable price. Will be most grateful for any information.

I also bought a new digital camera in the US, and shall be sending you some photos as soon as I learn to use it...!

Oil Paints

I met another potter from Austin a few months ago and she is in the process of moving down here and cleaned out her studio. She's into watercolor or should i say exploring watercolor now so she gave me all her oil paints. I've messed with paints on and off thru the yrs. Well i decided to start painting again and i must say i am having fun. Oh I am still working in clay, i just set up my easel in one corner of my pottery studio. There's something about the feel and smell of oil paints that feels comforting to me. Some times i wish there were two of me so i could do more art things.

Fate...

Hello, all! It was great to see Mudqueen's new fish dishes, and I look forward to seeing all your latest productions soon. My own muddled projects are delayed yet again as, having finally recovered from the dysentery contracted in Bolivia 2 months ago, I am now in the midst of making arrangements to return to Bloomington. My mother died last weekend (she was 97, and while not entirely comfortable during the final month, she was very well and lovingly cared for, and passed in her sleep). Anyhow, my brother and I have to go to tie up loose ends, probably towards the end of October.

So the reason for this posting is to let you know that if I'm absent again for a while, it's only because other matters have to take precedence over the pleasure of your company. Love you all!

Very new to Pottery!

HI , I am new to the list and to pottery. I just posted a picture of my first two thrown pieces in the pics section under Marilyns stuff. I know they are not fancy and each one has a small problem. The smaller has an inconsistency in wall thickness and the larger leans a wee bit. I'm hoping to get better as I go on. I have enrolled in some pottery classes. Anyway I was kind of proud of them for my first try.
