New Month - Get Greener

The purpose of the group is to provide information for those interested in Greener Living, leaving the world a better place for future Generations.
From this point on, it will be the RULE here in Greener Living that we only supply a SHORT EXCERPT of an article you wish to share with the group.
Then you provide a LINK to the rest of the article, so that those interested can go to the article itself and read the remainder of it.
All links are to be posted as such, this is the link to the Eons Terms of Use – (www.eons.com/about/terms) which will show the address without the http:// which would only lead people to a “view link” which for security reasons we should not do.
We do not want to be in violation of copyright laws, and by posting the entire article, even if you give credit to the author is against copyright laws and the TOU here at Eons.
If these guidelines are not followed with any post from 6-4-08 on, they will be deleted to protect our group, Eons, and copyright laws.
Now remember that a lot of our members have been living Greener for some time, for others they are just starting out. So our suggestions, tips, ideas and thoughts are what we are doing, what we have read, or are thinking of doing.
Let us all help one another to make a difference, remember if we all did one thing, we ARE making a difference.
Be sure to look in the files sections for information shared, and jump on in, have fun with us, make new friends, and go GREEN!
Group Changes
Hello everyone, Coloradonite is going to take over a Group Manager as I am having some health issues and need to cut back on the number of groups I am in. I leave you in good hands and know that this group will continue to grow as people become more and more aware of the need to GO GREEN.
Thanks for being an awesome group.
Debbie

We in the group can help you with computer concerns, suggestions and such, but often you have other questions about groups, and TOU's of Eons, and those answers are available here -

Natural Pest Control
A lot of solutions for Natural Pest Control
Natural Pest Control
One I had read about on another web site was to sprinkle corn meal where you see ant trails outside, they will eat the corn meal, it makes them thirsty, the find water and then the corn meal swells in their stomachs and they are gone.

How to Green Your Electricity
The cost of electricity is going up (both in dollars and in environmental and health impacts) and it doesn’t show any signs of doing otherwise.
About half of the energy in the American grid is coal generated. We won’t bore you with what you already know: coal is a really stinky, dangerous, nasty, unsustainable, and silly way to make power.
By using less energy, and greening the electricity that we do use, we can lighten our footprint immensely.
The subject of electricity and its environmental impacts is a massive one and we can’t cover every corner of it here. We hope that this brief guide can offer some solid suggestions for greening your electricity and use thereof.

Garage Garbage
Household Items
Commonly referred to as household hazardous waste or HHW, many of the every day products in your home or garage can be hazardous to you and the environment if used, stored or disposed of improperly.
Household CleanersThese items can contain harmful materials like lead or mercury that do not belong in a landfill. You can also find them in your medicine cabinet. Since they are used on a daily basis, product stewardship is necessary, including:
* Know how to identify hazardous products
* Know what hazardous products you have
* Make sure they are properly stored
* Learn how to properly dispose of them
