That's pretty hard. We are so busy these days that being active is a day off. But not only am I 50 and young, I'm 60+ and young. Actually, I had no childhood and so when I had my son at 24, my life began. I am now, 37 yrs old. I will be turning 38 soon. Well, I will be retiring in Dec on my 62nd birthday, but I am really only 38 yrs old. What will I be doing? Oh, so much. I am still in good health. No meds so far, my wt is okay; I have always been conscience of my wt, and what I eat. My interest has always been to participate in a marathon. I did one 26 ml; some 40 yrs ago when they were not timed and I completed one in 8 hrs. Now, you must complete them in a certain time or you will be disquilified. So I have started to enter in the 5K walk/run and am enjoying them a lot. Just participating is fun. I have a bad back but the walks seem to help in some strange way. I have less back pain after the walks. Hum??
Does anyone know how you get clostridium and how you get rid of it? How do you kill it on a surface?
Hi Everyone!
I was excited to see this group and wanted to join! I did notice that there isn't alot of activity in messages going on and hope that everyone starts to chatter soon! I would love to know about some of your lives!
I am a positive 55 year old woman that is married and still has adult children with kids moving in and out of our home. I thought once the kids were married, my husband and I would be FREE to do ANYTHING! I must say I was surprised to realize the truth of "Your children are yours for life!"
Nowadays, it seems that many are in the same boat. I want to face the days with humor and try and keep stress out as much as possible. I want to know if there are others that still have "adult" children with troubles that break your heart (sometimes your bank account)! How are you coping? What do you do to keep the "passion" in your life and the projects that interest you?

Okay, someone better post something or I will take this site over with my boring posting! But, I have registered for 3 walk/run events this month just to keep myself physically fit. On Mother's Day, I will be walking/running in support of Breast Cancer, on Memorial Day, I will be walking/running in support of our Vietnam Veterans, and will be ending the month of May, on the 31st with supporting our local SPCA with a 5k walk, without a dog. Maybe I will adopt a dog there on site and have it run with me. My dog Maxmillian can't even walk 3 miles with me. The last time I had to carry him home because he refused to continue the last 1/2 mile. He completely dug his paws to the ground and refused to move. He was no light wt either. I bet he weighs 20 lbs. Not only that but we had to pass homes with other dogs who somewhat charged us, barking, barring teeth, and all I could do was pray to God that they would not attack us. That was the end of taking Maxmillian out to walk.
Well, I finished the ZooZoom Run/Walk on the 13th of this month of April and did better then the last time. I met my supervisor on the walk and surmised that she must train on a regular basis since she kept a steady walk pace the whole time. I had to walk and run for short distances to keep up with her. But to her credit, I finished in 46min 20 sec. I actually made it in 45min as I passed the 3 mile mark; the volunteer called out the time as we passed by. It was that extra 10th of a mile that set me back. I feel very good about finishing with a better time than my last run. Although at approaching the finish line, my supervisor started to run and I started to run and I beat her by 3 seconds. I thought I was going to pass out at the finish line because I started to get nauseous and felt like throwing up. I didn't. In my age group, 60-64, I came in 9th out of 20. I was excited about that. At least I wasn't last and I came in with 249 racers behind me!!!
The position consists of teaching a 58 year old lady to start living for herself and not everyone else. This job may require pep and motivational talks, teaching self-esteem classes and how to put herself 1st for the first time in her life. Anyone interested in this position please respond as it may take several people to complete this job, so all applicants will be accepted.
Your announcement cracked me up, so I joined the group today. I think I do need a little turbo charging...........can anyone help? LOL
