Actually this is what Scott McClellan really said on the Oreily show:

The truth is I messed up. I was specifically not trying to single anyone out, including you. But the way a couple of the questions were phrased in that interview along with my response left things open to interpretation and I should not have let that happen. ... I understand why you got upset. ... You're the Big Kahuna at Fox News, and some people tried to paint in a black and white term through a preconceived notion.

He did not make an admission of lieing about the original premise. Only that he was sorry that he included Bill Oriely.

The naysayers of Scott McClellan are the White House staffers that have been told to throw him under the bus.

And Astride Honey, your comparing apples and oranges. Like someone said in a previous post, Journalist are voters to and can back whomever they like. But the White House is legally bound not to conduct itself in this manner. First Amendment Freedom of the press. That would be a state controlled media like Pravda.( The Russian controlled media )

There are perceived facts and then there is the truth.

Well Charles we can forgive you for jumping the gun since your post occurred before Scott Mcellan admitted to his lie on O'reilly's radio show.
Jumping to conclusions before checking the facts? Well that's something else.

Excuse me TJ. Which post jumped the gun? this has been in the news since last week and if you read my prior post you will see that he did not admit to a lie at all. But then I understand your confusion. Thank you for your forgiveness old exalted one! Do I need to bow now?

Ha! The link you provide is laughable. Even McClellans word are weak. Of course Olberman and Mathews can MAKE a story out of it. LOL

You're a funny guy Charles, does that make me Obi Canobi?
I'm sure if you don't think he got called out in the end and did apologise, as he did, you will buy his book.

Scott

So it's laughable because the story is true, which is why it became a story in the first place?
Or is it laughable because The OReily account just got debunked?
Please enlighten me. I can use a good laugh. LOL

I'm guessing with all the stories that have been hitting the airways this week, The Republicans are laughing up a storm. You know like crazy people laugh when they lose it. :>)

You mean obi wan kenobi? Like from Star Wars? I'm not sure what it makes you TJ but I'm sure there are those who can help you with your self description.
Maybe Scott and Seabury can help you with that.
As far as the bogus apology, I don't think I need to elaborate on that any more.
I do plan to buy McClellans book. I'm betting there's more good stuff in there.
Boy! You Neocons sure don't mind throwing your friends under the bus do ya?

I believe fox has the best media ratings on cable because they are biased you know what you are going to get. so it takes a specific sclice of the market. the other channels then split up the rest

Charles, I really admire you trying to shed some light, but I think a few windows are sealed way too tight and it just ain't gonna happen. Facts mean nothing to a closed mind.

I have to say, my new favorite reaction from the extreme right is "So what, everyone does it". As I've stated elsewhere, being around teenage boys all day I've grown to find the humor in this. It doesn't really do any good to point out that a.)everyone actually ISN'T doing it and b.)even if everyone is doing it, we are talking about you right now so quit trying to deflect. What you have to do is say, NEVERTHELESS and just hand out a bit of truth. I learned this from a counselor.
