How fair and balanced is the main stream media?

We have the main stream media telling us that they are not biased in their coverage of the Presidential Campaign, but look at these numbers and see what you think.

Could it be that McCain is not getting coverage because he doesn't talk about our future like Obama, only the past?

Could it be that McCain is not getting coverage because he is about negative campaigning, he has no positive message like Obama?

Could it be that McCain is not getting coverage because he keeps flip-flopping and does not stay on message like Obama?

Could it be that McCain is not getting coverage because he keeps getting his facts wrong and not correct like Obama?

Could it be that McCain is not getting coverage because he keeps lying that Obama is doing what he is in fact doing, when Obama is not?

Do you watch Fox News? Could it be that Senator Obama is acting more presidential by going over seas to improve on his foreign policy while Senator McCain hangs out in the cheese isle of German American Restaurant.
The media traditionally go with the candidate that seems the strongest. They always have.

Nothing underhanded here.

I guess all that is possible Life but not likely. When numbers are this lopsided something is wrong. My post was a question not a challenge of opinions. As for me watching Fox News, yes I do. Why do you ask Charles? I also watch NBC CNN ABC and ESPN. I listen to NPR radio to get opposing views. I even sometimes listen to the BBC and even read the New York Times along with the WSJ IBD the Drudge Report and Huffington. What do you watch?

How about turning the question around and asking why do so many in the media, those who spend their days steeped in politics, choose to give the Democrats instead of Republicans?

The reason I asked if you watch Fox news ( noise ) is because if you do you know how politically biased to the right they are.

And MM, Great point.

Well MM I suppose you could ask that question but let's look at this as a numeric probability. Let's say 60% of the people are for Obama ( a stretch but we can use it for argument sake) and the rest are for McCain or are undecided. Then looking at those numbers how do you explain that the donations of the media are skewed 90% for Obama. This is not a political question, just a question of fairness. If they are giving him donations 9 to 1, how fair and balanced could it be? Charles I suppose your are incinuating that if I watch Fox and if Fox as you say is right biased than that automatically makes me right biased. I guess I can assume that since you quoted from NPR which is left biased and are using Scott McClellan as your base of fact and we all know his agenda, than you must be left biased. Not very rational huh!

Well, seabury, each person who works in the media is also a private citizen and allowed to chose how they will vote and who they will support. So, since these are people in the know, closer to the action than most of us are, and they chose Democrats by such an extreme margin, maybe it is because they understand something the average citizen does not about what damage the Republican party has done to America. Or maybe because so many of them have witnessed war first hand, they don't want the war to continue for another 100 years. Or maybe since they get to see McCain unedited, they don't want him to be President.

Could be, you know.

On the other hand, maybe seabury's figures are just so much hooey.

Here view link is a LA Times article saying that “Cable talking heads accuse broadcast networks of liberal bias -- but a think tank finds that ABC, NBC and CBS were tougher on Barack Obama than on John McCain in recent weeks.”

And, of course, when you read the details, it gets even squishier.

MM your arguments are not factual. As for what I said being hueey, I didn't say it. I supplied the link to Investors Business Daily which ran the article. I was making the article available to be read with a question of media bias. This is not a slam against Obama.

SeaBury

No Sea, I'm sorry but the world does not revolve around your navel. My point is that Fox News has always been a right wing network and it's news guys like Sean Hannity and Bill OReily have been anti-Obama.
And the news that the White House has been giving Fox noise talking points substantiates my opinion.
And just for the sake of FYI Sea. I have nothing personal against you. I just don't agree with your opinions. Your not being victimized here.
