AMERICAN-IRISH MOTHER

we haven't evolved much. i watched my boy/man through watery eyes today - all 6' of him - walk away after a good, tight hug - at my demanding - saying, "I'll be alright ma." after he was driven away by my baby boy/man - another six footer (we grow 'em big), i sat and cried, belly-cry, tears a-flowing to form puddles on the tabletop.
ii live in Florida - he hates it in Florida, so much so that he chose to be "Homeless in Indiana" rather than a decent home in Florida until he gets on his feet.
my heart is breaking, but i know we've done something terribly wrong if they don't spread their wings and fly the coop. that doesn't mean we moms don't miss them.

Sounds like you boy/man needs to find out what reality is like; and that the grass isn't always greener.

How prepared is he for this venture into life; recent high school, college boy, job trained (skilled)?

We hate to see them leave, but there's always a time for it. Whether we (or they, or both) like it or not.

Just let him know he can always come home. I feel your broken heart. The best to you.

surpirse - he's HOME (for a couple of months - he doesn't KNOW what he wants to do). he came home to roost, work (got to find a job), think things through and decide where he wants to be - HE HATES FLORIDA!!!

i understand having trouble finding yourself - but this back & forth - aint nobody can afford it - can't imagine where he'd be able to travel to if he were collecting frequent flyer miles. he's keeping US Airways in business of late. (well through us - he owes me for a r/t tix and his sis for a 1-way). this is getting old. i'm glad he's home - but he better stay put until he makes up his mind what the he## he wants!!! (at least i know he's safe - lol)

thanks to all of you for your advice/suppor/kind words.
