AMEN!!!!! Wouldn't it be nice if all of us could have a short term job where we can make all the mistakes we want to , meet influencial people, make lifetime friendships with people who will watch our backs, get to live a fancy life style and have perks the rest of our lives? Where do I sign up? I maintain if one thinks well enough of themselves to be in politics they do not belong there.
Yes I want to know who started this tradition of the politicians having healthcare for a lifetime, or salaries for a lifetime?????
Their salaries are enough that they can pay for their own health insurances. If we made their money we would be able to afford heatlh insurance and a heck of a lot more stuff. I just don't get it..
You have to have money to be a politician anyway so why do they need extra benefits that WE the people are paying for. Especially when we are struggling to pay for our own bills and mortgages these days.
I am so THRILLED to see that someone besides me finally noticed that and said something!! Everyone looks at me like I am nuts when I start saying the same thing you said. It is like they wonder where did she come from!! If we say nothing then nothing is done and only gets worse. I think everyone should read "NIGHT" by Elie Wiesel because he said they didn't believe the things that were going on would ever include them and it did. Elie was the only one in his family that survived. We must not sit back and let these thing happen, like their retirement plan and the job was to be a service to the people of their home area.
I couldn't agree more. The fancy lifestyles these politicians lead are in no way commensurate with the amount of work they do or the quality of work they supposedly are doing for the people who feed them - namely us! But, the American people are in reality totally powerless to do anything about these parasites and the politicians know it so they just go about their business as usual. I think what it would take to turn things around is if the American people would wage a tax revolt but in order for that to happen you need leadership and that's what this country is sorely in need of today.
