Pulled Pork

Found a 7 1/2 lb fresh ham at the supermarket for .78 cents a pound and couldnt resist. Put it on the weber grill this morning at 4am, added a little smoke and look what happened.

Hey Vinny, Ya need to get yourself a pair of "bear claws" to shred that pork, much easier than using forks!

When I butcher my hog in the fall I always leave the hams fresh. You couldn't butcher it yourself for that great a price. looks great
I have been smoking and roasting anything I can get my hands on. I'm using my new green egg and I couldn't be happier.

I had 4 huge, thick pork loin bone in chops that I cut up and cooked in my crockpot with onions, garlic, 1T oregano, a jar or salsa verde (green salsa), a jar of jalapenos. I added stock so meat was barely covered and cooked it on low for 9 hours. I then mashed it a bit till it shredded and raised the heat to high and burned off a bit of the moisture. It created a marvelous Mexican pork filling for tacos or burritos. I have been eating it over white rice with a handful of sweet onion, cilantro and lime juice mix atop. Fabulous Chile Verde and sooo easy. Grandkids loved it, too.

That looks soooo good! Every time I see it, my mouth waters. (And my eyes, too! Wish I had some.)
