If I could.....

Found this on Yahoo this morning, and thought it was a hoot. They asked for suggestions on how to change the TV format of NASCAR races.

There are some good suggestions, and some that are off the wall, but most of them were valid and thoughtful.

My thoughts:
1. One network, preferably FOX
2. The same team of announcers, Larry, DW, Jeff H.
3. Kill Digger and just have a trackside camera - no gimmicks required.
4. Run either split screen or bottom feed bar of advertisements. Better yet, limit ad breaks to cautions.
5. Program what ads there are so that we don't see the same ad two breaks in a row - or the same sponsor so often. Offer companies some other way to showcase their products or services. NASCAR marketing has got to start thinking outside the box (or track - or pit - or wherever they are now)

I totally agree with all your points flabookworm. I particularly like the idea of streaming ads at the bottom of the screen, and having only 1 channel, preferably Fox. Can we mail the whole Yahoo page to Nascar? SV

I find the split screen stuff as distracting as all get out :^) I don't get the ad or the race. Give me an Ad or give me the race, but not both at the same time. I can live with Ad's cause everybody needs to make a beer run every now and then!

Yes flat I agree . I hate when they switch from this channel to another on the same day. sometimes as much as 3 damn channels. I like fox the best. or just keep it on one all season !!

and also ps 2.... I forgot I love Digger...... also I do enjoy the split screen at least u can see it and ignore the commercials. U have 2 turn off the sound from the commercials sometime cuz they r so damn loud !!!!

No ads until cautions but put them on a split screen. Way down in the corner somewhere, why? because cautions are when the workers work. Lets watch the pit crews and not just the top 3. As far as TV channels....Fox or SPEED and no more. Keep it on one network, never mind this ESPN ESPN2 ABC and TNT mixup. If you wanna bid for the show network keep it with the KISS principal. One station all season.
Digger is stupid, any gopher, or whatever he is who moves from track to track just for attention SHOULD get run over
