For Zafodsgirl

Ahhh, Sen. McCain, you smooth talking devil you. Once again you prove you are the George Bush Of presidential candidates!

From The Page:

THE STEELERS SAVED JOHN MCCAIN

Republican candidate for president John McCain will almost certainly need Pennsylvania to win the coming election (and Ohio, too, so you can count on another f****d up election), so he sat down with Pittsburgh's KDKA and addressed a central issue facing western Pennsylvania voters: talking about the Steelers.

"The Steelers really made a huge impression on me -- particularly in their early years."

The Steelers were founded in 1933, and McCain remembers their early years. Just wanted to point that out.

In fact, McCain explains how the team helped him during his time in a POW camp. "When I was first interrogated and really had to give some information because of the physical pressures that were on me, I named the starting lineup -- defensive line -- of the Pittsburgh Steelers as my squadron-mates!"

"Every time I come to Pittsburgh, I'm reminded of a POW camp." Me too, John. Me too.

Just think it's funny that Pittsburgh reminds him of a POW camp.

I heard this. In fact, I watch KDKA news since they have good Steelers coverage during the season. But, I didn't see this on KDKA. Nope, I saw it on Olbermann's show after it happened when he pointed out the timing was impossible. The Steel Curtain played in the mid-70s, after McCain was out of the prison then. So, unless the guy's a psychic, he can't possibly have given them Joe Greene and Company's names since they weren't there yet.

As for saying the city reminds him of a POW camp, only if you think a POW would have access to good food (I'm not talking pierogies), a thriving cultural district, world-class medical care, world-class universities, and beautiful scenery. Plus one of the best July 4th fireworks displays I've ever seen. And, I've seen the fireworks on the Mall. Ours are better.

So, everyone, move to southwestern Pennsylvania so you can help Obama carry the state!

No, thanks. I'll stay in SE Pennsylvania. You've never seen the fireworks on Penn's Landing.

You just have to wonder how senile the man is, though. It's getting to the point where they shouldn't let him talk.
