Obama Hitches a Royal Ride

From Jake Tapper at Politico:

After attending a banquet at King Abdullah's Beit Al Urdan palace Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, hitched a ride -lliterally - to the Amman airport with the King.

Abdullah drove himself - with Obama riding shotgun - from the palace to the airport in a silver Mercedes 600 series with blacked out windows.

The King - in the driver's seat - raced onto the tarmac and came to an abrupt halt, stopping on a dinar, just a few feet away from one of Senator Obama's pre-positioned secret service agents.

The King's car was followed by a squadron of myriad Mercedes filled with the King's security forces.

The Senator and the King got out of the car, spoke on the tarmac for a few minutes and then shook hands. Obama then boarded his plane, without the King, to fly to Tel Aviv.

Regarding King Abdullah:

I spent 94-95 in Amman, and I saw first hand how the estimated +700,000 Iraqi refugees are impacting the relatively small Jordan (5-6 million), and it's NOT GOOD.

It's only my opinion, but I think King Abdullah is, without question, the best Arab leader; and I believe he would very much like to see Obama be elected.

I think they can work very well together, not only on Iraq, but hopefully come up with a solution for the Israel-Palestine conflict.

And wouldn't that be cool!!

Barack totally rocks, too! How awesome, how Presidential he already is. He will redefine "presidential" -- he is truly a man for the now!

Nice pictures. Hasn't he seemed awesome to you, he glides around and deals with people on an intellectual basis, rather than like a stumbling moron, The people overseas must be shocked to see an American with any class!

After 8 years of “Dumbya” Bush, this is truly refreshing. To have a president with class, intelligence and grace.

McCain isn’t even in the same league; his campaign has been reduced to a mutual haters society.
