Well welcome to our group. We usually post a welcome, but you just jumped right on in there. I am with Vinny on this, except I disagree on the cooking time. Rice only takes 15 minutes to cook, and three minutes to rest. Why use a crock pot? Crock pots are for slow cooking. I could understand a rice cooker, if you were doing volume, but you didn't say how much rice you were making. So, here is my "perfect every time rice". You can double, triple, quadruple or more. This recipe is for plain white rice only. It doesn't work on brown or wild rice.

1/2 cup jasmine rice
3/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. kosher salt

In medium sauce pan, place water and salt. Bring to boil, add rice, stir, cover and bring back to boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes. No peeking! Remove from heat, without peeking, for 3 to 5 minutes. Lift lid and fluff with fork. Your rice is ready. This will serve 2. Multiply quantities by how ever many people you will be serving. The reason they say no peeking is that every time you lift the lid you are releasing steam, a vital part of cooking the rice. You will just have to trust me on this. The quantity of water is correct, and will produce a fluffy white rice, every grain seperate and fully cooked, not clumpy rice. And do not decrease the salt, even when you multiply this. It may seem like a lot of salt to you, but it isn't, and you will have to trust me on this.
Welcome to our group!

P.S. Do the fifteen beans in the crock pot, then when your beans are done, cook your rice, according to the directions above.

Vinnyv, why 2 cups of chicken broth or only 1 cup total of a mixture of the two?
Have any tips for wild or brown rice?

I've used the Crock-pot to cook large amounts of rice. It comes out perfectly.

Is the Jasmine rice and 15 beans a recipe or are you literally going to count out 15 beans to cook with the rice?

andiamo, the rule is 2-1. 2 cups liquid to 1 cup rice. I sometime use 2 1/2 cups liquid. It will absorb the liquid. for wild rice it takes a lot more liquid and time. go by the directions.
