Another question

OK, how often does everyone bathe their Tzu babies? When needed? Weekly?
Monthly?
And how do you dry them? Air dry, towel dry, blow dryer?
Just curious...... : )

Lola LOVES baths!! (except getting her face wet!!) When we are in the bathroom for any reason, she stares into the tub! But to answer your question, I bathe her whenever her white hair looks a little gray. Sometimes it's within two weeks, sometimes a month. Usually I let her air dry (after getting the excess of with towel) cause she is so funny to watch and play with at this time. She runs and grabs her toys one by one, shakes them, then shakes herself, then runs around and barks. She's like the energizer bunny!! lol

I have two Shih Tzu's.
I bathe both of them every Sunday. The reason I bathe them so often is because of their stinky faces! A Shih Tzu's face sure gets dirty quick, and get's a musty smell! They're easy to bathe since they both stay still for a bath. Even when washing their faces they're good! I'm ever so gentle when I wash their face since they both have those short, short noses!
Afterwards I just towel dry them. I've rarely ever used the blow dryer on them. And they RUN the house and get SOOOO excited after a bath!! Now...Giving the Greyhound a bath?? That's a different story!..lol..

Charlotte has a regular 6 wk appt with groomer - so she can get her hair cut and smell really good. At about 3 wks, she gets a home bath to tide her over til her appt. I use the blow dryer on her - warm setting and just be sure to move it constantly so it doesn't burn her. She doesn't seem to mind the blower too much. She also gets her face washed almost every night, because she gets dirty stinky face. I also wipe her down all over, since she sleeps in bed with me.

I have two Shih Tzu too. I bathe them once a week or near to that. I agree the little faces start to smell and although i wipe thier faces almost daily I still love the smell of a clean dog. Who like a stinky cuddle bug?

Once a week with Fluffy Puppy and at least, every other day I put a mild solution of water and baking soda on a face cloth and do his face.

Yes, it gets so stinky. lol

It helps clean without harshness.. keeps his white whiter. I think the mild abrasiveness of the powder helps scrub off the brown stuff. Smells better, too. I tried a solution made for cleaning those tear marks and I don't find it does as well. Can't recall the name.

I tried the tear stain wipes the groomer gave me and found they didn't really work. I'll try the baking soda - I suppose if it helps keep your fridge smelling fresh, it's gotta do the same for stinky face.

lol

It's good stuff!

Other than doing this on his wee face about every other day, I wipe with plain water, too. He's not as bad a drizzler as some I've seen, so, that helps.
