since i live in vegas i don't have much to say. in massachusetts they have been trying to open casinos, because a lot of the citizen go to connectiut to he indian casinos. so i think it is the governor who wants to do the same thing, bring gambling to the state...they voted it down. it would help with the taxes that is for sure. so far we do not pay state income tax here....that could change the way the economy is going.
sorry for my spelling errors, it's late and I am going to bed.
I do not see a problem with slot machines at the airport if it would help Phoenix's economy...The airport has become quite a hub...and AZ has been hit quite hard with the housing slump also.
They talked about this in Maryland, and a lot of people do not want it. I do not have problem with the idea.
Anything to liven up this little burgh. Hopefully, it will keep them from levying $214.00 mowing fees and otherwise harassing honest citizens.
What seems to be the objection? Being at the airport, I suppose there's little danger of the citizens of Phoenix becoming slot-addicts, and transients wouldn't spend enough time at the airport to become addicted. So, what's the beef?
