I don't know why I love you like I do.

Here it is the thread you have been waiting for...tell us what is special about your pet...you know his or her most endearing quality. Every pet is special to their person so tell us now what is special about your "best friend"....

I will start....my dog Gypsy is the happiest creature I have ever met. She really does seem to be smiling all the time and she makes me laugh with her tongue always hanging out and her ears alert and her beautiful eyes always watching me. She watches my every move and some days I actually feel sorry for her as she follows me from room to room. If I am cleaning she goes from room to room with me and task to task. She sits outside the bathroom door when I am taking a shower and comes in to try to dry me off with her tongue. I don't think she likes me being wet....she sleeps right in the middle of the bed ....between me and my husband and puts her head on my pillow. And last and best....she loves to cuddle and will sit as close as she can get to me and lay her head on my lap for as long as I will sit still....ok I know I am sappy about her but she really is a wonderful dog. I bet yours is too....so tell us about your special friend.

You must post some pictures of Gypsy. What breed is she? she sounds so much like my Coco. I thank God for her. She is such a joy. I have no children so to have her in my life at this time I can't find the words. She's jumping with joy when I comes home. She follows me from room to room and each and every time I get the keys to the car, she is the first out the door. She is soooooo smart and loving to me. I can go on and on.

My little dog Zoe is such a joy too. She comes to me for pettin' when I get on the computer with my coffee in the morning. Then it's onto her pillow and under her blankie in the livingroom until she wants some more. She loves to come up on the couch and cuddle and to have her tummy rubbed. She keeps her eyes on me all the time and when it's time for a walk she gets so excited. That is her favorite thing to do besides eat! lol And there is loads of unconditional love for me and I love her dearly too.

Gypsy sounds like my dog, Gizmo. Gizmo wakes me up every morning and follows me to the bathroom and waits for me. He has soulful eyes and manages to get his messages across to me by a look. I always know when he wants to go outside or if he wants a snack. In fact he used to sit up on his hind legs to get our attention, but we've had him so long that he doesn't have to do that very often. He is friendly but very choosey about who he is friends with. He doesn't like to share our attention with anyone or any other dog either. We've had visiting pets and he is always glad when they go home. He's not a cuddly pet but he likes to sit in my lap if it is raining and thundering. He's lots of company for my husband (who is retired) while I am at work. Life would not be the same without our beloved Gizmo.

How can you give back all the love they give you? Homer is always happy to see me no matter what. Silly, goofy and loyal. When my husband came to pick me up from the airport ( I was returning from a business trip)he brought Homer with him. My husband said he was glad he did, because he didn't see me standing in the crowd. But as soon as Homer spotted me, he started jumping around in the back seat and crying.

Short and sweet? I can't single out just one of my babies...

Tigg's a kisser, and as rough as her tongue is, I could let her lick 24/7. Cat kisses are soothing.

Sommer SMILES for real, and I swear she has the kind soul of our dear departed (7/21/01) Alphi. There's not an unkind bone in her body.

Jersey came to us Labor Day weekend 2001 badly in need of behavioral therapy and medication. A trip to a behaviorist at 21 months and 15 mg. of Prozac daily literally saved her little life. Had it not been for doing for her what our vet says is far more than most people would have, she'd have been euthanized for biting. She's our success story, and she's Daddy's Little Girl.

They're ALL special, yours and mine.

As you know I have two dogs and each is special in their own way. They are from the same litter but are very different. Nipsy is so willing to please.

Lottie is a little more selfish. She carries a ball around most of the time hoping I will throw it. I do quite often and I play ball with her every night before going to sleep.

One thing that endears me to them is--I can be holding them on my lap and sometimes it causes me pain in my legs. I can tell them "You are hurting me" and they jump down. If they are in bed with me and lying on my legs, and I say the same thing, they get up and walk over to the other side. I am sure they don't know what it means but they do know it means they should get down.

I got these babies when they were three weeks old and bottle fed them for three weeks and to them I am their only mom. The prefer to be touching me all the time.

If I go somewhere I am supposed to bring them something back. I call them and say "Let's see what's in the bag?" and they come flying right up to the groceries and start nosing around. If I am out somewhere that I cannot get anything for them, I slip something into the bag and then "Find" it for them.

Oh I could go on and on about every dog I have ever owned! I will probably think of something else as soon as I submit this.

Thanks for starting this!

I love my two little furbabies more than anything! Teena and Katie were both rescued from the Animal Shelter and both were unwanted and were doomed to be "put to sleep". Teena is my 6 year old Min-Pin and she is a "special needs" dog as she is almost totally deaf. When my husband, Andy, was very ill and at home suffering from a terminal illness, little Teena was his constant companion. After Andy's blood transfusions each week, Andy would come home from the hospital feeling extremely weak and exhausted. Little Teena would jump on his lap and lay there under a blanket covering both "Daddy" and her. She wouldn't leave Andy's side, and kept vigil next to him till the day he died. She was such a comfort to Andy and the night Andy passed away, we put Teena on his hospital bed at Andy's side at home and placed Andy's hand on her back. Even in his semi-conscious state, Andy managed to try to stroke her fur. Teena grieved for her Daddy along with the whole family and wouldn't come upstairs to sleep on the bed for couple of weeks.

Katie is my 15 year old little furbaby and Katie is strictly "Mommy's girl". Katie was 12 when we rescued her from being put to sleep at the shelter. No-one had wanted Katie due to her advanced age but when Andy and I saw her beautiful and pleading eyes, it was love at first sight! Katie bonded with me immediately and follows me everywhere whereever I go in the house. She is one of the sweetest and happiest dogs we've ever had! Although she is 15 years old, she is still active and likes to take walks every day with mommy and Teena. Whenever I feel sad and miss Andy, Katie comes and lays next to me and it almost seems that she looks right into my soul as if to say that she understands! I don't know what I could have done without these two loving and faithful dogs, especially after Andy had passed away! They give me so much unconditional love that's inmeasurable.

Angelina, my cat, 16 years old--she taught me how to be a woman. Someone threw her onmy front porch the year before I separated from my ex-husband. During my single years, she taught me to ask for what I need and want becasue she surely does, and and I have never stopped

Trixie, my medium sized mutt--she is so obedient and wanting to please, one can't help but love her--she forces the issue and before I know it, I am on her side. She has made me come from a better place.

Louie, my twelve year-old half black lab, half standared poodle. He was one of the first labradoodle rejects. He if and always has been filled with JOY!!!!! He has lived every moment of his life in joyous anticipations that something good will happen, even if it is just his regular dinner. Every day of his life, he has given me JOY!!!!!!
