There is a box that appears on this page sometimes--sometimes its on other pages.. It says something like "How Smart Are You" It poses a question ,then has a button to take you to the next the next question. Its a little quiz that asks funny, trick type questions --they say something about wanting to know how dunb we are... then you have to fill out a thing to get your results. Well--I foolishly did this!!! Immediatly afterwards I recieved the following email.................................

Thank you for selecting My Info Guard.
To begin using the service you will need the following information:
Your 800 number:------------
Your Personal Mailbox number:-------
Your PIN:--------

To start using your voice mail service simply dial your 800 number and follow the instructions. It is recommended you change your PIN upon first using the Voice Mail service for your security. The voice mail service is designed to allow friends, family and business associates to leave you messages 24-hours a day, seven days a week by dialing your My Info Guard (800) number and entering your personal mailbox code. The service allows you unlimited messages and the calls are toll free for you and everyone else. There is no contract and the service can be cancelled at anytime. Simply give out your private (800) number and your personal mailbox number to those individuals you wish to leave you messages. When they want to leave a message they dial the (800) number and enter your mailbox number. The system plays your personal greeting and leads them through the process of leaving a message. At the completion of the message we will save the message and immediately notify you through email that you have a message. You can also call your 800 number and the system will tell you that you have a voice mail. You can retrieve and listen to your messages in two ways; by dialing into the system using the (800) number or by logging onto the website by simply clicking on Account Management Console

To learn more about your new My Info Guard plan simply go to our website by simply clicking on Account Management Console and click on the Identity Theft Program button. The website is designed to answer all your questions and inform you of the options available under your My Info Guard Program.

The monthly service fee is $14.95 per month and will be billed automatically by MyInfoGuard, to your monthly telephone bill each month thereafter on the anniversary date until you cancel your service.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Customer Service Division at 800-773-0052 or you can receive information about your account, process changes and / or manage your mailbox from any PC with an Internet connection by logging onto our website by simply clicking on Account Management Console

Again, thank you for selecting My Info Guard and we look forward to serving you.

I had no idea that I was signing up for anything!!Much less something that I am going to be charged 14.95 a month for!!

I know I am stupid for falling into this. I am the first to admit I am computer naive.I just didnt expect something like here.
Thought I should warn the rest of you.

This is in manages and moderators group. This ad is a scam, please read the following from the VP finance from Eons.

he advertisements are scheduled to be off the site within the hour.

Eons' strives to ensure that ads such as this never make it to our site in the first place. However, occasionally they do slip through as we have seen, so I thank you for bringing this to our attention so we could act upon it.

For those who may have followed the full path of the IQ test and provided a phone number which is now subject to undesired charges, here is how you may unsubscribe, pulled from their site:

1. You can call them: 24 hours a day at 1-800-360-0518

2. You can go to their site view link and unsubscribe there.

3. If you text with your cell: You may unsubscribe for the Service at any time by texting “STOP” to 654654

If you provided your phone number I suggest you take one of the above steps to have any billing removed, and be sure to check your bills in detail for the next 2-3 months to ensure that charges are truly gone. Trust but verify.

Finally, please accept my apologies. Eons will continue to attempt to ensure that the advertising offers which are presented are clear in their messaging and do not use questionable sign-up practices, as we want Eons to be a positive experience for all of our users.

My advice, both in this case but also in all aspects of online usage: always wear a skeptical hat. If you are asked for something that doesn't feel right, whether it be contact info, financial info, or personal info, don't provide it. And if you see something on Eons which looks questionable, don't hesitate to contact the Eons Help Team, and we can investigate.

As of 2 hours ago it was still running, beware and pass this on.

Holy shit.

I hope you didn't provide any account numbers. If so, you might want to call your bank and have them changed.

Tricky little question .... Of course, we all want to pass the test, so we sign up for a $14.95 call service we don't want.

How do the people that think these things up sleep at night?

Glad you reported them and thanks for the warning.
