So Important!

I am so happy to see that there are members in this group that are talking about politics. As our country faces the election of a new President, this may be the election that makes or breaks America. I am 58 years old, and this is the first time that I am afraid for America and where she is headed. I believe that there are many people today, who do not realize that the decisions and the leaders that head our country, can guide, and without doubt, can destroy the American dream as we know it today.
I look forward to reading and being a part of this group. It is my responsibility to know the facts, and I for one, want to make a vote for the best leader. I want to be well informed to make a vote that is based on knowledge and the principals our forefathers put into effect. With hope ion my heart I cry " Long Live America! THe land of the free and the land that I love."

hi tauna , sad to say but i think it's already too late .. look around you .. if obama gets in it will take him 2 years just to get our heads above water again .. and another two to make us halfway prosperous .. but unless we get some kind of alternative energy program and fast life as we know it here in the usa is gone with the wind .. i hate to sound pessimistic but 8 years of g.w. bush will do this to you . frenchy

Hi Tauna, Glad to see someone is looking for facts. Important to remember that a lot people have opinions and it is not always backed up by facts. Hope you enjoy this site and read very carefully with an open mind and check out the sources. Ibis

BUT--there are things we can do individually to aid the energy and global warming crisis---clotheslines, lightbulbs
(the curly ones), and walk more. Less recreational driving.
Save money--even if it is only 5-10.00 a week. Return to root values that made this country great. Waste not; want not. Apt dwellers can have patio garden for fresh veggies and herbs. Home owners can find ways to make homes more energy efficient.

And if you need inspiration--watch some of the green TV with Ed Beggley--and check out some of yahoo's green groups.

I remember the stories of the great depression told to me.
Learn to be self sufficient as much as possible. We are creative peoples--we just have to get moving--all of us.
Talking about it just will not get anything done--we need to take on community projects. We can whine later folks.
Right now the safety of the constitation, and recovering this nation from where it is now lies on our shoulders--not
on a presidents shoulders--This is your problem and my problem--and by joining hands together, we can fix this nation.

One step at a time. One lightbulb at a time.
