There's Something About Cave Creek
AUTHOR: Gene K. Garrison
Subtitied "It's The People." That's the reason I wrote the book — the people. Between 1972 and 1993 I wrote about the old-timers of Cave Creek, Arizona, a little Southwestern community just north of Phoenix and Scottsdale. I sat spellbound as they told me about their lives as cowboys, prospectors, veterans, miners, horsemen, real wranglers and dude wranglers, entrepreneurs and strong women. Sheriffs too. The people didn't seem to realize that they had lived in tough times until they looked back on it decades later. Their humor came through and they celebrated all the time with home-grown musicians and dancing every weekend. The bars were full of activities, sometimes with guns.
