Looks to me like some Yorkie, and after that, it's anyone's guess. He sure is a cute little guy. I hope he brings you much joy and pleasure.
he looks like a Yorkie and Terrier mix to me.

Hi RJ, My sis had a dog that looked just like this, only female. Her heritage was Yorkshire Terrier and carefree vagabond. She was my sis's constant companion and her ears, my sis is deaf. She also was a rescue and I'm tellin' you I don't think much has been harder on my sis than when she lost her to old age. I kinda think she might have gotten her in Florida when they lived down there, but I don't remember. Anyhow yours is a cutie and since you wrote that he is skiddish, might I suggest a harness instead of a collar. Easier to work with the pooch on walks if they are in a harness, I think it makes them feel a little more secure.
I see the Chihuahua and Yorkie in him..
But whatever the mix, he's adorable!!!
What's his story? How did you rescue him?
He reminds my of my Tia..my Chihuahua mix.

~ Oh, he really is a cutie!
{ *Thank You* sooo very much for rescuing him }
~ What have you named this little guy?
Ya know ~
if you seriously want to know his blend of breeds,
ask your veterinarian about having his DNA tested
... I know that it is not crazy expen$ive to have that
rather simple procedure done.
I definitely agree he looks like an adorable part Yorkie, possibly with the Chihuahua thrown in there, too. I would think your vet could offer input on that. He is just so cute, whatever he is!
BTW, that's great that you rescued him; and after checking out your profile to get to the picture, thank you so much for serving our country.

The "How did you rescue him" answer: I had to go to a neighboring town one day for something. This trip took me passed the animal shelter. My wife had been talking about getting a Long-haired Chihuahua for quite some time now. I went there and they had this little guy and said he was one of those. The moment I saw him he wrapped his little paw around my heart. Although I didn't think he was what she wanted I brought her back the next day and he did the same to her as he did to me. Well, he came home with us and has been a member of our pack now for about 2 months. When he came here he was nothing but skin and bones. He has now put on some weight, but very slowly. He eats quite a lot, but he's very active. And That, as Paul Harvey would say, is the rest of the story.

After seeing your post and looking at Bruzer Cruzer's photo album, I went to the above site and he could definitely be a long hair chihuahua, but like everyone says his hair look coarse and similar to a Yorkie.
No matter what he is a cutie-pie and has a GREAT name. How wonderful to rescue and how lucky you are to have found him.

Definitely not 100% long hair chi, but his coloring and hair texture remind me of a yorkie - my guess is part yorkshire terrier and part long haired chi - whatever he is, he is a cutie!! A keeper for sure.
