What are your opinions....all you science buffs, do you believe it or not.?

absolutely .... Gore won the Nobel Peace prize for his exceptional work on the issue .... Watch his movie "An inconvenient Truth"

A great many people still do not give credance to the theory. I dont know how they can be so unobservant. Even if its a natural, cyclical phenomenan something is going on. The ice is melting at an extreme rate right now.
I give Gore a lot of credit for what he has done.
The video was a goofy joke......but its not a joke for the polar bears and the animals that rely on that ice.
Wait till our shore lines flood then someone will sit up an take notice...too late?

I do believe it and think it may be even more serious than the credit it's given. Katear:)

The earth has been warming or cooling since its formation; the relevant question is what impact mankind and growth are having. I believe Al Gore is a charlaton with a bigger carbon footprint than many villages in the third world. Has man had impact on climate- absolutely. Has it been scientificly quantified- absolutely not. If I hear anyone discuss the topic without including sunspot activity and variations in the planetary orbit as part of discussion, I assume a lack of knowledge or an agenda, or both.

And that would be a scare tactic to keep lesser informed people from contributing. We are all not scientist here. We get bit and pieces of information that we use to try and make a point or even steer other questions. Instead of demeaning people for what they may not know, why not add to the knowledge by including what you know about sun spots and planetary orbits.
Slapping people down does not inform.

How long has Al Gore lived there.....what is he doing now he knows the truth ...... see the link. I believe he is making an effort,

Well, I know that local climate changes happen often, give or take a couple of hundred years and I also believe we are in an interglacial period that began about between 12,000 and 10,000 years ago.

The specific cause of these ongoing interglacial periods is not known. However, we can attribute them to a number of different causes, which probably happen in combinations, of environmental, atmospheric and solar events that moderate or change energy inputs and therefore change overall temperature(s) and climate over a period of time usually not less than 10,000 years or so. Local climates and micro-events are usually a part of a the larger pattern over longer periods of time but over all things heat up and then cool down and then heat up and then cool down, over and over again. Currently it seems to be heating up, sorta of.

What we do know is that in a billion or two plus years the Sun will boil off the Earth's oceans and atmosphere and ingest the whole planet as it expands to a red giant, then collapse to a dwarf star.

In the meantime don't put away the mukluks and ice picks, a mile of ice could above where you are standing today if you are around for another 10,000 years or so. And no, mammoth meat probably doesn't taste like chicken.

I agree with Old what's his name. The earth has been warming and cooling for eons, so to speak. When I was in high school they said we were on our way to another ice age. We don't know if it is man made or not. But most of the big grant money goes to the global warming side. Grants create junk science. If you tell me who funded a grant, I know the outcome on day one. Science, doctors lawyers and politians are all on par with a used car sales person. Live with it.

How I feel is that even if this is all a cycle, and natural....with all we now know can we not do something to help slow down the process of warming. Or freezing for that matter. Does the cause matter so much as us stopping in any way we can, the poles from melting.
Seems that people can all do their part in making the planet a better place rather than placing blame. we have to know that breathing smog is not good, so why resist cleaning it up?????
