Did you Know!!

You don't need insurance to get your prescriptions filled at Wal-Mart! There is a list of prescriptions that cost I think 4.00 a month and if you are on something that is equal to what you are taking you can get it filled at Wal-Mart for 4.00 a month and I think 10.00 for 3 months. You need to get the list at Wal-Mart and take it with you the next time you go in to see your Dr and see if he might be able to switch you to one of the Meds on Wal-Mart's list. I know some of us pay 20.00 for prescription through your insurance but if you can get the same meds or equal for 4.00 a month or 10.00 for three months why not check it out. I am into saving any way I can. ALSO you can go to COSTCO and Sam's to get you prescription filled without being a member they can not keep you out because the MEDS are controlled by the government so you can save there too. All you do is when you go to Costco or Sam's tell them at the door you are getting your prescriptions filled and there is no membership required for this. You will have to pay for your prescriptions at the pharmacy but that is ok too. Another this you can find the best deals on eye glasses at both places too. They wanted 525.00 at Kaiser for my glasses and I got them at Costco with a warranty for 185.00 and that is for trifocals and progressive lenses and photogrey. So this is a good deal also. And no matter where you are in the US or Canada if something goes wrong with your glasses all you have to do is to go into any Costco and they will help you for FREE!!

I do the Wally's thing for my pill scripts too. Insulin I can't get that cheap there so do Costco. So I didn't sign up for script plan with my Medicare. Just not to happy about them cutting my S S to make Medicare premium tho to the tune of over 100 bucks. Paid into it when working and now got to pay for it again.

I get my scripts at WalMart too! When they first started doing the $3 and $4 scripts, the dosage I took wasn't on the list, but half the dosage was. So they gave me twice as many of the half dosage and told me to take 2 instead of 1. Well, that was no big deal, and at $8 for the double dose, I still saved money!!!

As for my insulin, I buy the Walmart brand "Reli-on" and it's about half the price of the name brands, and just as good. I also have a "Reli-On" glucometer, which was dirt-cheap compared to all the other name brands, and the test strips for it are half the price of strips for the name brand meters!!

So, the pharmacy at WalMart has been very, very good to me!!

Sharon---I've heard about how much you can save on your scripts at Costco, but the closest one to me is a two-hour drive, so I'd go in the hole there!!

I am so confused. It seems the same store in different locations have different policies. Walmart turned me down, because I have Medicare. I look at all the Medicare perscription programs and they all are very confusing. I do remember them saying to keep in mind something around $3,000 a year out of pocket. I have one med over $900 a month. I have been turned down by the drug company, because I now have to claim two for household income. What a mess, I miss out by some $26 dollars a month. I need this medication...............bad.

The $4.00 prescriptions at Wall Mart are on generics. Now if it is still covered by patents the price is whatever the drug company wants to charge. Then you need your insurance, secondary insurance, one arm, one leg and your first born son.

This enables the drug companies to continue going around and paying doctors to write scripts for their drugs. If it was illegal to do this at radio stations why isn't it for medicines.

I agree with you Tom--supposedly it is, but instead of actually "paying" Drs., they send them to "conventions" in the Bahamas or Vegas or Miami and pay for everything, and who knows whatall else is done we don'r know about
