Conservation success!

As we all know, the bald eagle has made it off the endangered species list. I have had the privilege of seeing the success of this conservation effort first hand - in my own backyard! A mated pair of eagles live near my family's house in Maine. They are one of about 400 pairs currently living in Maine, according to National Geographic. This year, their baby got curious and flew down to our porch! If you want, you can see the eaglet in my most recent Eons blog post :)

Hopefully, success stories like the bald eagle can give people hope, and serve as a reminder that legislation protecting endangered creatures really can make a difference!
