My Longest Ride

We spent July 4th in Cheboygan, MI and I had the chance to ride a rail-to-trail for the first time. We rode 21 miles from Cheboygan toward Mackinaw City but fell 4 miles short. But we still did 21 miles which was my longest ride yet. It was just a straight trail with no hills so it was actually quite easy. The next day I took the same trail in the opposite direction and rode 10 miles. I wish we had those trails where I live. The scenery is beautiful and no auto traffic to deal with.

Sounds like a wonderful ride opportunity, it also sounds as if you had a good time, and that is the most important thing. I also wish we had some of those beautiful rails to trails here in Ok. as well, maybe some day I'll run for Govenor, and maybe then we can have some decent bike trails. Enjoy what you can, when you can, ride easy, ride safe...... Riki

By the way, I was going to ask, seeing as how you saw such beautiful countryside, take a camera, maybe the rest of us might enjoy it too. Riki

Congratulations on your rides, with the 21 miles being the longest one this year. That is a great accomplishment, and you have a right to be proud.

The rails-to-trails system is truely a wonderful experience, we have a few nice ones in Florida. Unfortunately, they are all well over a hundred miles away from me.
