Try boiled chicken or hamburg mixed with rice. Be sure it's boiled and not baked, fried, etc. Get all the fat off before mixing with rice. This usually helps.
I'll try the hamburg/rice tomorrow.
First I tried puppy food because she was so emaciated. Now, I'm using Science Diet adult, but no change. Still yellow and soft.

You need to give it time. Just a few days isn't enough. I rescued a pom and he came to me with terrible diaherra. The vet gave him meds and we had him on special food for a few weeks - vet recommended and gradually mixed in the regular food we were going to use. It was terrible when he first came but he turned out fine and I found him a wonderful home.
Canned pumpkin will work - just add some to his/her food. For a dog that weighs about 25 pounds, I'd use a tablespoon on top of his food, twice a day.
Be sure you get plain canned pumpkin though -
DO NOT USE Canned Pumpkin pie filling.
This is an old dog breeder/exhibitors trick - and it works wonders in firming up loose stools in dogs.

My shepherd has had stomach issues all his life and always had problems fighting off the "chachas". After trying many home remedies, the vet put him on a prescription diet- Science Diet W/D. It is a low fat dog food and it's quite expensive, but it worked almost immediately. He has been on it for almost a year and no more chachas!!
