In ancient Greece one aspect oftheir democracy was the abiity of those who could vote to not just elevt their "senators, put each yearthey voted off the onethey felt was the most incompetent. this person usually went off into exile. Of course somrr went to br consultants to the persians(you know how that worked out.) i think this is something that needs further exploration.

And the greatest irony here is that most of the polls, and many Republicans, think that there will be even MORE Democrats elected this fall. Probably thanks, in most part, to Bush and his war.
Here's hoping Obama can whip them into shape!
Isn't the 8% rating just from Republicans?
'Among Republicans, 8% give Congress good or excellent ratings, up just a point from last month'

I look forward to the Demos controlling both congress and the Presidency. Bush had 6 years of control and he got us into a war, and helped all his buddies.
This information seems to indicate that republicans are more 'united' then any of the pundits have suspected.
I found this one:
The average Favorability Rating for all U.S. Senators is 56%.
--The average Unfavorability Rating for all U.S. Senators is 32%.
--The average Favorability Rating for the 44 Democrat Senators is 59%.
--The average Unfavorability Rating for the 44 Democrat Senators is 30%.
--The average Favorability Rating for the 55 Republican Senators is 54%.
--The average Unfavorability Rating for the 55 Republican Senators is 33%.
LOL!! Nancy Botox Pelosi and Harry who Reid have really done a good job of keeping the status quo so they could run their unqualified candidate against the Iraq war. Pelosi has a promary comming up and she needs to be voted out. Cindy Sheehan is running against her in the primary.
They have a nerve shoving Clinton, the best candidate, off the ballot when they've accomplished nothing. I'm a Dem and will not send a nickle to the DNC because of their dismal and corrupt conduct.
Lady Earth Your post confuses me, you try to contridict my post, but the data in your link confirms what I wrote. The two paragraphs below are copied from your link:
Tuesday, July 08, 2008
The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.
Last month, 11% of voters gave the legislature good or excellent ratings. Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of 2008.
Based on this information my post stands as written and I accept your apology.

BTW Only 13% of democrats thought congress was doing a good job. Maybe we could all get together and change the whole congress, and if they don't work out, we can change them again in two years. Shouldn't take long for them to get the message.
