Message 174 of 1037

Thanking God for His comfort and strength

As a Child of the King, I know where I am going when I die. I am so grateful for that knowledge and that as Christians we have the blessed Hope of seeing our savior face to face when we close our eyes and take our final breath. We also do not grieve as those who have no hope. Yes we do grieve, with tears and emotions, and we miss our loved ones every day...always, but we also know that for Christians..."to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, so we comfort one another with these words." (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

"Some Day the Silver Cord Will Break" by Fanny Crosby

Some day the silver cord will break,
And I no more as now shall sing,
But, O, the joy when I awake
Within the palace of the King.
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story saved by grace.

Some day my earthly house will fall,
I cannot tell how soon 'twill be,
But this I know, my All in All
Has now a place in heaven for me.
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story saved by grace.

Some day, when fades the golden sun
Beneath the rosy-tinted West,
My blessed Lord will say, "Well done!"
And I shall enter into rest.
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story saved by grace.

Some day— till then I'll watch and wait,
My lamp all trimmed and burning bright,
That when my Saviour opes the gate,
My soul to Him may take its flight.
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story saved by grace.
