My Old Routine

Well, here I am right back into my old routine and starting back with the pain and exhaustion which I did not miss at all while in alabama. I think I have discovered the whole problem with me. I will sum it all up in one word "COMPUTER", yes that is right. While in bama I did not have a computer to get on each and every night so I was in bed by 10 and no later than 11 pm and I felt better last week than I have in quiet a while. I took a nap several days and did not try and over do everything. Now I am back to staying up till 1 am and not getting the sleep that I should be getting.
I have decided to try very hard to be in bed no later than 11:00 pm on tuesday night and hopefully the next couple nights after that and then see if what I am suspecting is true. Does anyone else do this and think that maybe this might be what is making their pain and fatigue worse. Take care my good friends and God Bless you all. I hope that you all have a Blessed night tonight and a Blessed Day tomorrow.

I know if you don't get proper rest it will make your pain worse. That's why they gave me sleeping medicine, because I never go into a deep sleep and rest they said. They really decided that when they did the sleep apnea test, on me. So, it may be right, we spend too many hours up late at night and on this computer. I had caught myself some days up & on this thing 10-12 hours.

its setting that pattern my friend they say it takes 14 days to form a habit...if it means less pain why not life is one good or one bad and we pay the price enough as it is. Then the exercise like our friends keep telling us...water and diet are a keen part too..see what foods set more pain level than others some preservative in some things will send me up the walls and tomato sauce...Mary and I have found we have lots in common and we set a time to usually fit our getting to chat on line...not chat box all the time we find its easy on msn instant messenger too..
You have great strength and you can be obedient to the pattern you set, I know you can...we will be very patient..

I think "old routine" sums it up. When we are away from home we move more. There is more interaction with people and, hopefully, more positive stimulation as we see new sights and do new things. Many of us get most of our "human" connection through our online friends and posts. It is easier and at times the only connection we get. It's hard to get out and about at times. People we love aren't available when we want to share something. In that way our internet friends are lifesavers. But then I get a bit lazy. Too much trouble to get dressed and go visit a friend. Walking in my neighborhood isn't an adventure like hiking a new mountain path. The more time I spend on the computer....well, the more time I spend on the computer! It feeds on itself. Moderation!!! Also, remember what you did on vacation that you loved and try to incorporate it into your daily life as best you can. (Forget some of the household crap that bogs you down and sucks your energy and do one cool thing you enjoy each day instead!) I bet you actually sat down and ate a leisurely meal a time or two. Do you do that at home? You went to bed earlier because you moved and were busy! You wanted to be rested because you had something to look forward to the next day. Take a break from the computer and have a little mini-vacation time at home each day! Hugs, Marcia

I think the computer is great but I agree, in moderation. I used to be on it way too much. Then I cut back & now I am back to "too much." I get online right when I get up & I am on it till 5pm with some breaks. I don't always shut it down so I can do laundry etc & pop back in. But I am rarely on it after supper unless hubby is watching baseball or away. It kills my back, kills my neck, gives me a headache. But I am addicted to the feedback & friendship. If I don't get out in the morning & go online, then that is my day----in a sundress on the puter. I don't always even bother to fix my hair. I am a slug some days. Everyday around bedtime I say I will do it different the next day but........you know how that works.
Billie---try not to go on the puter at nite. I think it sucks you in & you don't want to miss anything. Especially you that use the chat. Also the bright lights of the computer do not allow the brain to relax for sleep.
We all need to get up & MOVE!!!! HELP! We are addicted. But we really can't miss anything---the same posts will always be there.

I have also noticed that my head/neck/shoulder pain is trying to start back again and it was just about gone. I keep saying "Tonight I will not get on and I will go to bed early". Well, here it is 11:17pm and can you guess "where I am,LOL". Yeah, I really do not listen to myself.

I feel the neck, shoulder, back pain more, too, so I have limited my self somewhat...no more chat box. Take care our sweet Billie, we will be here when we can....always thinking of our wonderful fibro friends who understand. Hugs

Now there's a perfect graphic Dawn! I feel like you guys do. I can't imagine having a lap top. I would have the dog leash in one hand and balancing the computer in the other.

@Auntbee;
I ran into this same situation when I was gone for 4 days on my mini vacation. No computer was available, I was doing a Lot of walking and into bed earlier and up earlier the next morning.Maybe the answer is staying on vacation! LOL
