Public should demand universal health care
Jul. 7, 2008 12:00 AM
The public should demand universal health care like Congress and the citizens of Canada, Britain, France and other foreign countries enjoy.
The American public is saddled with huge costs and poor care for the majority while the privileged few are the only ones able to afford and benefit from the system.
This system ties workers to their jobs, as it makes them fearful to rock the boat, lest they lose them. Millions have no health insurance, and those that do are often deprived of care by technicalities the insurance companies find to avoid paying.
It's time the public revolted and demanded our right to adequate health care for all.
No more propaganda that our health care is the best in the world. It's unavailable or too expensive for the majority and only available to the privileged few.
The money squandered by this government would have paid for health care for all, homes for the homeless, repair of our roads and bridges, and created jobs here at home.
If the coming election doesn't result in change as the voters demand, let the revolution proceed where we become embroiled in war with Iran and suffer more damage.
