Nameless Enemy
How can I fight this enemy,
When I don’t even know their name?
It seems to have the upper hand
Always winning this losing game
For years and years you’ve struggled
For years and years I’ve cried
For once I thought… “he’s safe now”
But darkness still lurked outside

To live so clean and free…
You try and fool the best of us
But the truth can always be seen
So I pray at night for Angels
To protect you with loving care
To blanket you with my love
Although I’m not even there…
A mother fights her battles
No matter her child’s age
She prays for intervention
To unlock the gilded cage
And every lie that’s spoken
Already has been told
For everything that glitters
Surely is not gold
So fight this nameless enemy
You FIGHT and pray for peace

And I won’t accept defeat
