Making the Most of Your Llama

Yes, I was a llama mama. Wrote the first book in 1987 and didn't nary a one of these fabulous creatures. Met my husband a year later - he had 5, when he died there were more than 40 in the field. I knew (know) more than I sometimes care to about these guys, but they are fun and easy keepers.
The book details farm preparation, choosing the animal, maintenance, training and breeding. Surprising in its third printing its available from many sources on the Internet.

Hi Mama Llama,

I met the cutest llama the other night at the Tri-County Fair in Northampton, Mass. It's name was Spooky and it was raised with an alpaca named Jet. I'm told they're inseparable.

I've been toying with writing a kids picture book about a llama who thinks he's an alpaca. Are they different enough for this to work?

best,
