Be not a judge
James 2: 1- 4
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
In church Sunday, my Pastor talked about Christians showing favoritism and partiality over one another and he admonished us that this is not what the Holy Spirit is telling us to do. He talked about how we quickly judge people by the way they talk and dress and immediately assign those not up to “our” standards as unworthy.
My son and his wife attended a very popular church for awhile that concerned us greatly. It was a service worthy of a Las Vegas act with all the lights and trappings. In addition, they told us that since it is televised, those who the ushers considered “beautiful people” were seated in the area of the cameras.
Luke 6:37 says Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
