I had one. My guy came back.. I retired it. I probably have it "somewhere" as I never throw anything out!
Peace!
I have a few I have bought and been given thru the years.
I had a POW bracelet. My guy never came home. One time, John (husb #1) and I went to D.C. and I put it at the wall under my guy's name. They claim everything non-perishable is put into storage.
I still have one, but truth is I don't know if that soldier returned or not. Does anyone know how to find out?
And you took the extra step...good for you.
I had one for years & sold on E-Bay & lady that bought looked up on internet & said that soldier got back from Vietnam but died in a car wreck in states a couple years later. I don't know where she looked it up.
I had 2 of them. One of my POWs came back and the other one did not. When we rec'd the bracelets we also rec'd their addresses. We wrote letters to them and to their families.
As they were returning, you could look them up in the newspapers, there was a list of their names. I remember the day that they landed the plane carrying them home ... it was live on TV, as they each embarked, they read their names. My man was there and I cried like a baby.
The other one is still listed as MIA.
