Hello BWA - Now I am not sure and will leave the final answers for the "really, really knowledgeable" people. I was told it is by ISP address, so if one is signed in from the ISP, no matter which "screen name" the other is logged out.
But I believe you can have two members from one household, just not on at the same time, but again - - wait for those expert guys to wake up and respond.
They are up all hours of the night reading, and learning, just so they can be called "experts" so they are slow to rise in the AM. LOL
Each person must have their own email address. You could still use the same computer, but in order to keep everything straight, I would not recommend more than one of you signing on at the same time. It would be too easy to get things mixed up. Each one of you would have your own sign in using the different email addresses and passwords. That would give each of you your personalized pages, groups etc. If you have a computer where each user can sign on and not have access to the others data, that would be best. Just my opinion.
Simple but tricky. I'm always signed in--never have to insert email and PW. If another EON family member ever TOUCHED my puter, they would be DOA. However, you seem like a nice sharing person, so you must sign out to protect your valued turf. Personally, I'd have a laptop for your work and let the rest of the clan screw up a Desktop.
Of course you can take the road of least resistance, a procedure that my friend HJ takes and have separate user accounts. No need to worry then--password-protect your user account.

If there is any way you could swing getting another computer for the second person it would be so much more peaceful for all. You can all hook up to the same incoming internet source in one way or another. I leave that for the tutorials, but it is such a pleasure to have one's own computer as an extension of your brain.
You don't need the latest model, in fact, put out the word. Younger family members and their friends are always upgrading and the computers often get thrown away! Check out your local craigs' list. If you have any questions, come back and ask questions no mater how silly you think they are.
The only dumb questions are those that are never asked! If you don't want everyone to read your question, choose one of the people in this group that you might feel comfortable with and ask them. I like your style!
Thanks we worked it out. Ya just have to sign in & out! I had to be diplomatic about it, being that it is his computer. Also he wanted to join my group. Previously I never let him near it. When owner of group is signed in, ofcourse all the power is there to delete etc. So now he can sign in, participate without worry! However now I gotta be careful what I say about Mongo! lol
