Obama's qualifications

Interesting article by a black educator -- Thomas Sowell, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution.
He makes some good points.

Some intelligent people get it. Obama is no different than any other politician no matter how loud he shouts about CHANGE.

He's not different than McCain?

Correct, he is NO different than McCain except for his youthful naïveté. But strangely enough everyone knows it and agrees about McCain. Obama is supposed to be the ‘Great Colorless Hope' leading us into a Technicolor world where everything is so warm and fuzzy. That just won’t happen. The gentleman who wrote the article hit it right on when he said something like… and I paraphrase… there is a know-it-all arrogance about Obama that could get us all into a heap of trouble if he starts messing with our enemies.

Thomas Howell is also a Conservative Libritarian. Translation ( Black Republican ).

I remember back in the early 1960's some Black ministers were trotted out to speak against Martin Luther King.
They also brandished medals of personal accomplishments that made them able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

And I don't believe Obama ever said he was a different politician. The media gave him that label. I believe what he said was that he wanted to change the way politics works. In order to do that you have to be an insider, Until your an insider you have to play the game by the rules that have been set.
Some intelligent people get it? I suppose that means if we disagree we're stupid. You Neocons sure love your name calling don't ya? LOL

THe thing about this article to me is that it is stirring up an emotional response just as he claims Obama is doing. I don't like the fanatisism Obama attracts, but if there is opposition to him let it be facts and not appeal to emotion. I don't doubt that there are enough facts to validate opposing Obama. There is plenty of factual ammunition against both candidates and that leaves the voter choosing between the lesser of two weevils. That is not exactly the same as voting for the best candidate. When best equals lesser of two evils we are in trouble.

Thomas Sowell gets around:

McCain's Straight Lies

By Thomas Sowell

view link | We have been hearing for years that Senator John McCain gives "straight talk" and his bus has been endlessly referred to as the "straight talk express." But endless repetition does not make something true.

The fact that McCain makes short, blunt statements does not make him a straight-talker.

There are short, blunt lies — and he told a big one on the eve of the Florida primary, when he claimed that Mitt Romney had advocated a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq.

The Qualifications to be President of the United States

That’s it. Those are the requirements for being President.

If you McCain-ites are going to haul out an "expert" to speak against Obama, you're going to have to do a whole lot better than this publicity hound.

SO SORRY!!!

I honestly don't know the man and didn't know he was a horrid Republican.

Didn't mean to soil your pages, guys. I just liked the way he started his article by saying that the baseball player wanted to wait until he could do it right.

Obama is such a pop star right now that he can do no wrong.

Yikes, let me outta here ------> exit stage right
