Dropped Food

My dear Critter friends, I am taking a survey. When our humans drop food on the floor what do we do?
A. Eat It
B. Just Leave It There
I always go with A. Well, yesterday was a Holiday Right? And what do humans do on Holidays? They eat outdoors and drop food all over the place. I'm a Dog, what do I do? I EAT the food.
So now my name is Euuuuuuuuuu Disgusting. Ring a bell? I think I've been called Disgusting in the past.
Well, I ate the food, they didn't see me. What was I to do, leave it for the Rabbits or Birds? No, it was mine Right?
So today I have a tummy ache, and what do we critters do when we have a tummy ache? Yes, we kind of throw up or spit up or whatever you wanna call it.
Did I tell Mom to start doing her exercises on the Rug without looking where she was laying. You should have seen her, I never saw her jump up so fast. Then she looks at me, looks at the rug, smells her arm and various other parts of her body and she goes Euuuuuuuuuuuuuuu and she calls me Disgusting. My own Mom calling me Disgusting. I have feelings you know. It was HER food, she and the other humans dropped the food yesterday, she was the one laying on the floor tonight.
I can't reach the toilet, where else should I put this stuff that my tummy doesn't like? She will never learn. She can't drop food and if she is gonna drop food she has to look where she is walking and laying the next day.
My feelings are hurt, I'm going to go and pout in the corner. AND you know what, I didn't leave it on her pillow did I? Sure could have been a lot worse.
Thanks for listening I know you all understand. HUMANS!!!!!

My Dear Friend Daisy,
A dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do. If humans are gonna drop food all over the place right in front of you and expect you're gonna leave it there they must be dreaming! I think it's their fault that you have a tummy ache, not yours. Maybe if they'd be more careful about eating in the first place you wouldn't have had to do so much cleaning up after them. Sheesh, can you imagine all the ants that would have come to feast on the dropped food if you hadn't taken care of it? Bet your mama woulda been REALLY upset about the piles of ants if you hadn't cleaned up after the messy guests. I guess your mom was just surprised when she laid down on the barf. I don't think she meant that you're disgusting cuz you're definitely not. Heck, I think you're the heroine in all this!
See ya!

daisy, i hope your upset stomach is all better now. sometimes human food is alittle rough on the tummy. but like you say it's food what we pose to do? anyway please don't have hurt feelings either, your mom didn't mean to say that. when my mom discovers "left over left overs" and gets that look on her face and yells alittle i think they're human what they pose to do? and she kinda cracks me up alittle, but don't tell her i said that.

Poor Daisy - I'm sorry about your tummy ache and the pukin' thing. I still have never puked - but I think it wouldn't be fun.

Actually, I think dogs tend to clean up after the humans when they drop food more than kitties do. I really do not like human food - but on the other hand - Ya Ya - well, I think he would eat anything. My mamma called him a food thief the other day. He will actually jump up on the counters and grab food off of them. I've never done anything like that - I know he forgets he's a cat and thinks he's a dog.

And - guess what? He has puked a couple of times too. I s'pose it could've been worse than the pukin' think - it could have come from the other end ya know! Just remind her of that - and how disgusting that might be.

Besides Daisy - you are still the mostest purdiest dog I've ever seen. Boy if I weren't a cat . . .

Hi Daisy? How's your poor tummy? Cleaning up dropped human food is a public service we provide them. Who knows what kind of pests would come otherwise? We all gather round whenever Mom eats... She'll either drop something or let us "prewash" the dishes for her. She says she couldn't live without us and I suspect our cleanup skills regarding dropped food and "prewashing" fit into this.

Mom expects puke from us and only says it's disgusting if she actually steps in it, or we puke on her (rarely, Daisy, rarely has that ever happened!) (Ok, maybe once in the car) So maybe when your mom said "ewwwwww disgusting" she was referring to herself for not scoping out where she was going to lay herself down properly and it was the puke itself, not you, Daisy. That's what I choose to believe, anyhow! You're too cute for your mom to think you're disgusting! My mom tells me and Ruby that all the time!

Good Morning, all your replies made me feel so much better, less Disgusting that is. I think my tummy is better this morning. I've been laying on dad's lap but I thought I would come and check in before I go back to his lap. I'm punishing mom even tho I know she felt bad after she said "Disgusting" because after she cleaned herself and the rug up she started talking to me in that sweet voice asking me how I was. Then she kept patting the sofa for me to come and sit next to her, but I went and sat with dad. This morning she tried explaining to me that it was the puke that was disgusting and not me, but she looked at me when she said the word Disgusting so I thought she meant me.
Oh minnie, was that you that talked bout the Ants, your mom must know my Mom and oh ya she would go nuts if she sees ants. In fact she saw one little ant by my food yesterday and she went and moved my food dish all the way in the other room. Dad tried tellen her "one errant ant doesn't matter" but oh NO, mom goes nuts when she sees those poor little ants.
Now that I wrote this I think I'm going to forgive her cus she had a hard day yesterday. First she sees one errant ant and then lays in my puke. That really had to traumatic for her.
Hey, I think we should take surveys every once in a while on "what humans do and say".

I got called useless and a dissgrace by the humans, Daisy. They had to put a mouse trap next to my food dish! I don't know what their problem is! They give more than enough food to share with my little friends! They said that their house is the only house in the world that has a mouse trap next to the cat's food dish!

Ya Ya hasn't gotten the concept of using the puter yet, but he told me to tell all of you guys that my mamma has called him a "piggy face" on occasion. I think that is because he eats all of his dry food, his canned food, my dry food, and if he can be a human food thief - he does that too!

That's funny, Gitche! Maybe next time Daisy's humans have a party you should send Ya Ya over there to help Daisy eat the dropped food so she doesn't have to eat all of it by herself and get a tummy ache!
