Oops, It's KAHLO...that's what I get for trying to type when I'm still asleep!
Was she not the wife of Diega Rivera?
You have thwe best slidesjhows I've ever seen Thanks. Some day you'll tell me how you do that.
I find that referring to Frida Kahlo as "Diego Rivera's wife" to be quite dismissive. Frida Kahlo's surrealistic paintings filled with Mexican folk art are unparalleled. Her cookbook is still a best-seller in Mexico. Her work to save the native species was untiring. Her intellect was as great as her spirit of adventure. She was a full participant in the Mexican revolution while seducing Trotsky and many, many others. She could party with the best of them even though she was a sickly, often bed-ridden cripple. I know of no American woman, past or present, who I would consider her equal.
She was definitely a woman in her own right. I had the immense pleasure of being in the company of Mexican actress Margarita Sans who played Trotsky's wife in the movie Frida for 4 days, and touring the Blue House with Maggie was outstanding! By the way, in the photo of the wall with the terra cotta pots embedded, Maggie is in the lower right hand corner. She is an extremely talented woman, intelligent, feisty, and multifaceted; it is a pleasure and honor to know her!
