I wore bikinis til I was about 30. I believe, I know, those days are over for good. There are some very nice one piece suits these days. But if a woman feels confident in a bikini, she should go for it.

Yes, Hippygirl52,,,,that's close enough. The Bikini Atol in the South Pacific was a tiny island where the U.S. tested atomic bombs in the late 1940's. I guess to the French designer that seemed like a 'hot' island and he knew his swimsuits were hot...so there you have it.

Hi, I have to weigh in on this one, as I just came back from a mini vacation and was with lots of young women and girls by the pool for days on end. Oh those were the days, when I could prance around the pool feeling soooo comfortable. My bikini days are over, I have the good sense to realize it. So many older women insist on dressing like they did back in the day, and so many young women that don't belong in bikinis wear them! NO, NO, NO! One peices work for me these days, but I wouldn't wear them when I was young.
