Hello NapaNag and tulipsNchimneys you are pretty groovy too thank you both so much for the warm welcome it is an honor to be here. I do so love The Fourth of July too! Although I do adore George Washington so very much I am gifting my fondness this day to John Hanson the first President of the United States elected unanimously by Congress in 1781 under the Articles of Confederation. He along with a total of seven other men held the office of President of the United States and no one really knows about them.
They are practically forgotten in history today. This saddens me for they should be remembered too. George Washington was indeed our first President under Our Constitution that we follow today but he certainly was not the very first President, so hats off to the seven forgotten Presidents they at least get a fond remembrance from me this Fourth of July! . I like that Kinky Friedman smokes cigars nice fit for a President…smiles. Oh, and you have got to love the signers of the Declaration of Independence! Great thinkers of there time!
