Happy 4th to all

I am finally getting a little breathing room. As a lot of you know when you live on Cape Cod you have lots of company during the summer. Today is overcast and a lot of people are off to the parades and fireworks. I am taking the day to enjoy the fact that everyone is somewhere else and spending the day curled up by myself with quiet and a good book for a change. Have a happy holiday everyone.

The cape is beautiful - it is raining today but that only makes the sea more beautiful. When you live here sun, rain, and especially fog become a way of life. and all of it is wonderful in its own way.

I had a happy 4th of July celebration in Breckenridge, CO, and this year it didn't snow on the parade! It was sunny and warm, a great day for the parade, followed by a sidewalk art/craft show, a free swing concert, dinner with friends, then a fireworks show. I couldn't have asked for a better day. While in the high country, I started reading a Diana Gabaldon novel, the Fiery Cross, not a mystery, but she's a terrific writer! I hope everyone else's celebrations were just as much fun.
